About Us

Background

The Legon Leadership Academy (LLA) is an initiative introduced by the University of Ghana (UG), following approval by the University Council in September 2023, to develop the leadership capacity of faculty, staff, and students within the higher education space and elsewhere so that they contribute to their institution’s progress and growth through innovative governance and management processes and initiatives.
 
The LLA is hosted by the School of Education and Leadership under the oversight of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ghana.

Guiding Principles

  1. Implement a programme targeted at developing the skills of potential leaders.
  2. Create a meritorious programme that focuses on honing the skills of a cadre of potential leaders.
  3. Actively involve the identified potential leaders in university governance and management.
  4. Facilitate structured leadership and management training programmes.
  5. Help budding leaders understand leadership theories and their practical implementation.
